How to read this map
Work in progress. This map is not exhaustive. It presents the result of documented research at this release and changes as sources are added, corrected, or superseded. Every node is based on at least one public source and carries its sources and confidence class. If something is missing or wrong, use Correct in the node panel or the Corrections page.
Every circle is a company or an operating facility, every dashed circle a person documented in a named role, every square a spaceport, a pad, an agency, a program or an institution. Color is the lane of the chain: nine lanes from launch providers to universities. Gold rings mark the nodes the state and the companies themselves describe as anchors of the Florida chain. Node size follows how connected a node is, computed on this dataset and never adjusted.
The map reads Florida space as one statewide supply chain with a launch coast on the end of it. Launch happens on a few miles of Brevard County shoreline. The chain that feeds it runs to satellite factories in Merritt Island and Palm Bay, an upper stage engine plant in West Palm Beach, a prime in Orlando, a space infrastructure company headquartered in Jacksonville, a private equity owner in Boca Raton, universities in Gainesville, Daytona Beach, Melbourne, Orlando and Tallahassee, and statutory spaceport territory that now reaches from the Panhandle to Homestead.
Lineage lays the chain out on a timeline, each lane in its own band. Network lets the connections pull the map into clusters: the state authority and the university consortium sit at the center of the whole graph, while the supply chain only graph puts the satellite processing facility, the Vulcan vehicle and the West Palm Beach engine at the middle. Cities puts everything on a Florida county basemap at state scale, with the eight counties holding statutory spaceport territory shaded. 3D lets the same network settle in three dimensions. Play runs the timeline: the range and the center first, the commercial tenants from 2006, the pad boom and the satellite factories from 2019, and the announced facilities arriving as announced.
Solid lines are ownership, succession, siting and supply: a company holding a plant, an acquisition, a business separating out of another, a second site, a supplier building for a vehicle. Dotted lines are leases, licenses and statutory designations over property, agreements, and documented support such as range safety or a workforce pipeline. Dashed influence lines are used only where an organization has itself said it followed another; there are none on this release. Containment is never an edge: a pad is not linked to the station it sits in, it is linked to the operator that leases it and the vehicle that flies from it.
Public disclosure policy. This map uses public business records, public corporate filings, property records, public calendars, public civic documents, public press coverage and public listings. It maps commercial infrastructure and documented civic activity, not endorsements, partnerships or private cultural behavior. Inclusion does not require participation, consent or approval. The map corrects factual errors promptly and considers removal requests case by case where a listing is outdated, an entity has closed, publication presents a material safety concern, or the entity is not conducting public facing commercial activity. Public commercial infrastructure is mappable; private cultural behavior is protected.
Hub regions. Every node folds into one of seven Florida hub regions or into the two clusters. Space Coast is Brevard County, from Titusville to Palm Bay. Orlando is Orange, Osceola and Seminole. Palm Beach is Palm Beach and Broward. Jacksonville is Duval. Panhandle and the capital holds Bay, Gulf, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton with Leon. South Florida is Miami-Dade. North Central Florida is Alachua and Volusia. Parents and owners beyond the state sit in an outside Florida cluster, and nodes with no Florida place the map can pin sit in a place not recorded cluster. Every count by place uses the hub.
Statutory spaceport territory. Section 331.304 of the Florida Statutes lists the property that constitutes spaceport territory: the Cape Canaveral Spaceport in Brevard, Cecil in Duval, the Eglin range complex across four Panhandle counties, Cape San Blas in Gulf County, the Space Coast Regional Airport with its industrial park and Spaceport Commerce Park in Brevard, Homestead Air Reserve Base in Miami-Dade and Tyndall Air Force Base in Bay County. The last two are added by CS/SB 968 effective 1 July 2024. Nodes carrying territory show the county in this panel, and the Cities view shades those eight counties.
The cross hub endpoint share. Beside degree and betweenness, every node carries one more computed figure. The cross hub endpoint share is the share of a node's edge endpoints whose opposite endpoint sits in a different hub region. It measures how far the documented structure travels across the state, not trade volume, money flow, employment or contract value. It is reported in this panel, in the workbook and in the reference's network metrics section, by lane and by hub as well, computed on this dataset and never adjusted.
Evidence. Data are current through . Activity after that date is described as announced or scheduled, never as completed. Each node carries a confidence grade and source ids in its panel: High means an official record or two independent sources; Medium means a reference entry or a single press report; Low means a detail still flagged as unverified. Each company and facility also carries a business evidence class: publicly verified operating, public record entity, historic or successor, or announced. A node is on the map when it has at least one documented link of an edge type to another node. Persons appear only as documented officers, officials and principals speaking or acting in a named role; no private individual is named. Superlatives are qualified. Nothing from private communications or client work is cited.
